Welcome to the Time Capsule — a weekly newsletter that serves as both my public journal and personal scrapbook. I write about the things on my mind and close to my heart in hopes that those who read it find value and enjoyment in it, and perhaps some solace too.
💭 Quote(s) of the Week
Let no young man delay the study of philosophy, and let no old man become weary of it; for it is never too early nor too late to care for the well-being of the soul.

✏️ L'Étranger
The stranger,
wanders to and fro;
what business does he have
in a place such as this?
He knows no one,
no one knows him.
It would take a thousand lifetimes,
and even then
who can be sure?
The stranger,
wanders to and fro,
as he waits for his number to be called.
He loves, he hates,
he forgives,
moves on,
and does it all over again.
All the stranger seeks,
is to be a stranger no more.

📖 Book of the Week — The Intellectual Life by AG Sertillanges
I found this banger of a book on a YouTube channel I recently found on classic literature, philosophy and reading. It’s a masterpiece — written by a Frenchman in the 20s, he writes about how one can organize and optimize one’s life to pursue knowledge, what he calls ‘the intellectual life’.
Topics include: The Discipline of the Body, Solitude, Mornings and Evenings, Concentration, How to Take Notes, Detachment from Self and the World, and more.

Naval Ravikant on Why You Should Not Seek Work-Life Balance — This conversation between Naval Ravikant, Sahil Lavingia and Ben Thompson took place in a Clubhouse room. It was a very casual meeting, and they shared their thoughts on "Work-Life Balance".
