Welcome to the Time Capsule — a weekly newsletter that serves as both my public journal and personal scrapbook. I write about the things on my mind and close to my heart in hopes that those who read it find value and enjoyment in it, and perhaps some solace too.
💭 Quote(s) of the Week
Now, with God's help, I shall become myself.

✏️ Two Roads
Existence is a funny thing.
Like puppets, we are cast onto the scene,
with little much as a pat on the back or an au revoir.
If we are lucky, we have parents to show us their way,
but even they are only doing what they know.
Two roads diverged in a wood,
One man tells you to go left, another right;
I kneel down,
letting the soil fill my hands.
Both are right, but you must go forth with confidence
if you wish to make it to the end.
Insecurities and doubt circle above,
waiting for my carcass.
I push forward,
trying to remember wish steps I took,
just in case I need to remember how I got here one day.
I look at the ground,
putting one foot in front of the other,
each step brings me closer.
When I reach the end,
it is everything I thought it would be.
I look behind my shoulder:
the journey was beautiful.
I wish I didn’t stare so much at
my feet.

📖 Book of the Week — Cultures and Organizations: Software for the Mind by Geert Hofstede and Gert Jan Hofstede
The landmark study of cultural differences across 70 nations, Cultures and Organizations helps readers look at how they think—and how they fail to think—as members of groups. Based on decades of painstaking field research, this new edition features the latest scientific results published in Geert Hofstede's scholarly work Culture's Consequences, Second Edition. Original in thought and profoundly important, Cultures and Organizations offers vital knowledge and insight on issues that will shape the future of cultures and nations in a globalized world.
My current read right now.
💡 Food for Thought
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
