Welcome to the Time Capsule — a weekly newsletter that serves as both my public journal and personal scrapbook. I write about the things on my mind and close to my heart in hopes that those who read it find value and enjoyment in it, and perhaps some solace too.
💭 Quote(s) of the Week
This is true happiness: to have no ambition and to work like a horse as if you had every ambition. To live far from men, not to need them and yet to love them. To have the stars above, the land to your left and the sea to your right and to realize of a sudden that in your heart, life has accomplished its final miracle: it has become a fairy tale.

✏️ Transformatio
There comes a time in every man’s life when he must choose to either pick up his sword or turn away from it. These moments are not singular: they manifest regularly, almost daily, and test the man as fire does steel. This rite of passage, this journey into the dark, tumultuous mist into Pandora, is more than a choice. It is the coming of spring, when the bees and bears, after months of seclusion, must choose to venture out into the new and unfamiliar territory of the reborn world.
Transformation is the gift to those who choose the sword. Many are unable to complete the process and are consumed by the fire. But there is no other alternative. To turn away is to give in your keys, to tell the world concedo, and to become another extra, a background actor to one’s own life.
I am excited by the prospect of a new horizon. To leave behind these concrete, familiar paths and worn-in bedding and to charge, as a blind raging bull, into the morrow.
