If your daily life seems poor, do not blame it; blame yourself, tell yourself that you are not poet enough to call forth its riches; for to the creator, there is no poverty and no poor indifferent place.
—Rainer Maria Rilke
✏️ Filing a complaint
The more you complain, the longer God lets you live.
Bertrand Russell
Again, I catch myself complaining about the very blessings that I once wished for so dearly.
Complaining is to shun the human experience — to reject the blessings of being alive. To the true believer, nothing is worth complaining about — even tribulation. In fact, the true believer sees blessing in tribulation: he sees an opportunity to grow, to be compassionate. To be a strong post against the vicissitudes of life. That is why when we hear others complain, it leaves a bad taste in our mouths: it shows a lack of appreciation for the human experience. Even on the worst of days, does one not have his health, get to watch the sunset once more? Surely many have had it worse than before.
There is nothing to complain about. Everything is pre-destined. The events of life are drops of water to be rejected or used to nourish our soil. Win or lose, trial or tribulation, accept what life gives you. It will come either way.

The Importance of Trusting Yourself
Nick Cave on the Relationship Between Creativity and Faith
You have to have faith in your own intuitive process. That is really all you can do. I would say this to all people who are trying to become musicians or writers or artists of any kind: learn as much as you can about your craft, of course, but ultimately trust your own instinctive impulses. Have faith in yourself, so you can stand beside whatever it is you have done and fight for it, because if you can invest it with that faith, then it has its own truth, its own honesty, its own resilient vulnerability, and hence its own value.
Fiction is the lie through which we tell the truth.
